Daddy...you broke my heart!

When Clint gets home from work, the girls get all excited to see him and want him to play with him. They have played chase, tag and then they were playing tea party. Our valentine balloon is still floating around and Catherine was standing in front of him and then all I heart was...." Daddy, you broke my heart" It sounded so sad from in the kitchen. She came in and ask me if I could fix her heart with tape! Well, tape didnt do the trick but an ice cream sure did!

Dressing up for me...not the Baby!

Yesterday we went to a beautiful wedding and Yes...Catherine did go and had a blast. It was really great to be able to get dressed up and not worry about what can be yanked, pulled or torn out or off. I actually got to get dressed up, wear the dangle type jewelry, a dress that was low cut but not to low and heels that were pretty and not practical. And makeup...I actually wore lipstick. I never wear that because I am always kissing Allison and she would be covered in it.

Any mommy can understand this I hope! And the best part about all this was, I got to feel pretty and maybe a little sexy, not my normal frumpy jeans and t-shirt wearing self. Both my children looked at me as if I had horns or something coming out of my head and then Catherine simply states..."wow, you look beautiful"

After the wedding, Clint and I actually went out to dinner with friends and no kids. I got to wear a pretty shirt, cute shoes with nice jeans. I got to dress for me again...twice in one day. Wonder never cease!!

But all fairytales must end...today I was back to comfy pants, t-shirt, no makeup and hair in a ponytail. I love my life, husband and kids....but I do love feeling like a pretty girly girl sometimes too!

Mommy...can I get Married?

So, our family has been invited to a wedding this weekend and I am looking forward to getting dressed up, hair, makeup, nice dress, etc... At first, I said both kids were staying home but keep going back and forth about letting Catherine go. It would a good experience for her, but when she is ready to go, she is pretty demanding and outright bossy and loud about it. Last night, I decided to talk to her about it and let her make the decision. Of course, all the while trying to make staying home sound so much better ( I am bad, I know).

I explained to her that everyone gets all dressed up in pretty clothes and that a man and woman stand at the front of the church and they talk about how much they love each other in front of all these people and at the end they kiss. The woman wears a pretty white princess like dress and carries flowers. Shes 5, so I left out some stuff to not confuse her. And then after the wedding, they have a party to celebrate and dance and eat great food.

She sat a for a few minutes and thought about and I told her we would talk more about going when it got closer. After kisses goodnight and I turned the lights out, I hear this sweet voice..."mommy, can I get married?" I was a little shocked, so I ask why. And she replied "Because I want to wear a pretty white princess dress and have a party too!" After composing myself, I ask her who she was going to marry...she said "Daddy!"

I love my baby girl and her infanite wisdom!

Giving the Blog thing a chance

I thought i would jump on the blog bandwagon and give this a try. As I type this, my 5 year old Catherine is standing at my elbow waiting for me to get off the computer so she can play. What gets me, is that she has her own Disney laptop in her room that she could play on. She is giving me the mean face and stomping her foot. Its pretty pathetic and funny at the same time.

Not to much going here...same stuff as usual. Laundry, cleaning, laundry, organizing...did I say laundry?! It seems to be never ending and just wont disappear. Allison is a big crawler and all her outfits look terrible from the waist down due to crawling.

I would like to say I have been working out, but I haven't. We have a gym membership but haven't seem to make it there because I am either sick or one of the kids! I have videos and Wii games, but have yet to do those too. I would honestly love to sit and do nothing or watch something very mindless on TV.

As far as my business goes...SLOW. But then again, I haven't put to much into it either. I am trying to enjoy the kids while they are small and like hanging out with me! :) I have tons of ideas for the business, and I will execute them one day!

Catherine has now moved to the kitchen and is glaring at me from there. She is a very opinionated 5 year old and a little bossy. She loves school and wants everyone to be her friend. She is a very outdoors kid and always wants you to jump on the trampoline with her. Allison is a very happy, sweet baby. I swear she is going to eat us out of house and home. She tries everything!! She has been crawling for 3 and half months and is walking, she just prefers to crawl. She walked about 10 steps today, clapped for herself and then crawled the rest of the way laughing!

Luckily, we were out of school today for Presidents Day and I remembered it was that day after walking to the mailbox. Tomorrow we are back full force with a day of school, dance and then gymnastics. Its a long day, but all over in one day!

I think that is it for the day, back to laundry ( have I mentioned how much I hate laundry?)
